The Top 5 Ways to Relieve The Stress in Your Life

These days, most people live hustle-bustle lives, and sometimes things can get pretty stressful. Some stress is good for us, but too much on a regular basis has been shown to contribute to many serious health conditions. In this article, we'll give you five great methods for relieving stress, at least one of which most people will be able to incorporate into their lives on a regular basis.

Exercise - is probably the best stress reliever going. The release of endorphins from aerobic exercises like running or biking can really help to calm you, but it's not necessary to work out intensely to feel the stress-relieving benefits of exercise. The slow movements and focused breathing of most forms of yoga, or just simple stretches, can really help you to feel energized and relaxed.

Meditation. - is a hard sell for most people in Western society, because it means they have to sit quietly and do what seems like "nothing". Feels very strange when compared with what they're used to - multitasking, running around like crazy, and having a million different random thoughts bouncing around in their head. However, if you can find the time on a regular basis to sit quietly, clear your mind and focus only on your breathing, chasing thoughts away if they arise, you'll find it does wonders for how you feel.

Music - Yes, it calms the savage beast - and most of the rest of us too. While the majority of people find that classical or mellow instrumental tunes relax them, others may find they feel less stressed after listening to some hard driving blues or rock. Find what works for you and listen to it regularly.

Writing - Try keeping a daily journal. Many people find that putting their thoughts and feelings to paper in a daily journal is cathartic beyond what they ever expected. Another method of stress relief that involves writing and works for many is to write down their stressful feelings and then burn the paper in an ashtray. They find the stress dissipates as the paper disintegrates.

Dancing - maybe this should fall under exercise, but I think it deserves recognition on its own. It combines the benefits of both aerobic exercise and music into one activity that is both fun and stress relieving.

So try incorporating one or more of these proven stress relievers into your daily life. You've got nothing to lose but tension!
